IRON MAN II: Iron clad guarantee of success?

Published by dreamscaper at 6:48 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Anybody who reads comics and is even remotely aware that they now also make movies based on comics, knows that Iron Man came along and that it was a big success for Marvel Entertainment. In fact with IM being such a huge moneymaker for Marvel, you just know that the pressure for the announced sequel must be equally huge; you know how it works, right? A sequel uses the original movie product as a template and tries to go further, faster and higher. In the case of the upcoming Iron Man II movie (scheduled for a 7th of May, 2010 release date) I am sure that the makers of the movie will be trying to bring in even more of the comicbook characters into the movie, try and develop some of the already introduced characters like Rhodey (now to be played by Don Cheadle) and Samuel Jackson’s Nick Fury character seen only after the credits of the first IM movie, raise the bar on their special effects even higher, and maybe most importantly, try and help build more anticipation for the subsequent Marvel movies to come even more.

I loved the first Iron Man movie and believe that the character is so rich in its history that the makers of the sequel should find it quite easy to come up with an equally successful sequel. Already there are runours afloat that characters from the comic, known as Hawkeye and the Black Widow, are pencilled in for the sequel. Let the anticipation begin…
